Item EG024002: In order to know which of two objects weighs more, you need to know the speed of each object in addition to the motion energy.

The kinetic energy (motion energy) of Object 1 is greater than the kinetic energy of Object 2.  Is the mass of Object 1 greater than, less than, or the same as the mass of Object 2?

  1. The mass of Object 1 is greater than the mass of Object 2.
  2. The mass of Object 1 is less than the mass of Object 2.
  3. The mass of Object 1 is the same as the mass of Object 2.
  4. The only way to know which object has the greater mass is to also know the speed of each object.
